New Kid On The Social Block, Just As Addictive

It would be hard to not have noticed the explosion of Pinterest over the past few months. It’s talked about everywhere, and has amassed a large number of users.

Well, this new kid is inviting you to his party in the form of an app. Basically, Pinterest is like a giant virtual pinboard, it allows users to take pictures and videos from all over the Internet and make your own boards out of them. Things like favorite books, hottest sneakers, dream vacation destinations or inspirational figures are all things that can be on your Pinterest boards.

The other cool feature of Pinterest is the way it connects with others. I can follow friends, or even my favorite brands, re-pin their pins onto my own boards, like their boards, and comment on them as well. The iPhone app also allows me to take any photos I’ve shot with my iPhone and pin them.

The app is surprisingly uncluttered and gives a clean overview of whatever board you’re viewing. It’s also easy to follow other users and pin to your heart’s content.
